changing to Substack

Since there is no way for anyone to follow posts on Blogspot, I am going to stop posting here and post on my Substack. I won't take this Blogspot site down because there are many posts of historical interest that detail what Israel has been doing to the Palestinians since 2010, showing how life for the natives has always been oppressed in any way that Israel can think of to make it so. Scroll down and see the posts listed at the bottom of the righthand column.

See you on Substack

Vigil - Glenn Greenwald speaks the truth

I am a big fan of Glenn Greenwald and have been for many years because of his relentless attack on hypocrisy of all kinds. He has just put up a show that covers in part the desire of Trump to deport any foreign students who participated in the pro-Palestinian campus protests last year. The entire program is worth viewing/reading but the follow excerpt I found on point in light of my appeal to all Americans to wake up, see the tight grip of Zionism on the US and work to break that grip, which is what I am doing. The entire Greenwald program is here.

"We are vastly approaching a situation where a condition to remain in the United States is expressing love and support for Israel or at least remaining silent. Our academic institutions are being cleansed of the right to criticize Israel. We went over those new antisemitism definitions at Harvard. Today, there was a finding that a graduate student had violated the rules of Columbia because they linked to documents and literature on astronomy in Gaza as part of a course, and that is now no longer allowed. These are graduate students, not just adults in college but graduate students! Our institutions are being cleansed of the right to criticize the state of Israel. By the way, you're allowed to criticize the United States all you want. Just not Israel."

Vigil - the police arrive, again

The police arrived, again, today, due to this or that caller being uncomfortable with my presence standing for the Palestinians. It's a good sign I am reaching new people. Of course the police acted as they always do, explaining that they cannot tell me to leave but would I consider it? NO!

My fellow Americans, if it weren't for our freedom of speech, and even with it, Zionism would shut down all criticism of Israel. It has been successful in this on campus where Zionist megadonors can control administrations, but that cannot reach this old man standing on a corner.
How about you? Are you going to remain silent? Silence means assent to what "leaders" do and Trump is going to do nothing that is not favorable to Israel. Does liberty and justice for all mean anything to you, enough that you would take even a tiny risk to stand for it? Please remember the Pledge of Allegiance and so something even if only to write your people in DC and denounce what Israel is about.
